One word that best describes how you work: <\/b>Positive<\/p>\n

First, tell us what you feel separates your business from other feed supply operations? <\/b>There are not a lot of feed mills in our area; they\u2019ve become a thing of the past. Regardless if our door closes at 5 p.m., I stay until the job is done, all deliveries are made and all the customers have the product they need.<\/p>\n


\nHow do you keep your to-do list? <\/b>I run a log each day by way of a spiral notebook at my desk. At the end of each day I update it for the next business day.<\/p>\n


\nWhat everyday thing are you better at than everyone else? <\/b>When the telephone rings in the morning, I say \u201cGood morning, this is Leo.\u201d When it rings in the afternoon I say, \u201cGood afternoon, this is Leo.\u201d When it\u2019s evening I say, \u201cGood evening, this is Leo.\u201d I try to be the good morning, good afternoon and good evening for them.<\/p>\n


\nWhat\u2019s your secret? <\/b>I am passionate about people and livestock. I\u2019ve gone through a lot of stuff through the years, — feeling low, health issues, stress at
\nwork, etc., so I try to help other people out. I forget about my problems and take on their problems. It makes me feel good.<\/p>\n


\nWhat are you currently reading? <\/b>The Biozyme\u00ae<\/sup> VISION Dealer Newsletter on my phone or computer. I love to read that and learn what\u2019s going on in
\nother places. I also read the Angus Journal<\/i> and Hereford World<\/i>.<\/p>\n


\nHow do you recharge? <\/b>By going home and getting six to seven hours of sleep a night. I love my Mountain Dew while I\u2019m driving. That recharges me.<\/p>\n


\nWhat is your favorite and least-favorite task at work? <\/b>My least favorite task is sitting at my desk. I like to stay busy so my favorite is when I\u2019m manufacturing feed, helping customers, working out new diets and checking on
\nold diets.<\/p>\n


\nWhat is one area you\u2019d like to improve in regarding business?\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>Advertising. I\u2019m currently working on that. We are putting up a nice sign on the highway that will change daily or weekly to display different specials we are running. Next, I\u2019ll start putting ads in newspapers. I feel more people need to know Cottor Farms is here to help.<\/p>\n


\nDescribe your ideal customer. <\/b>All of them.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best advice you\u2019ve ever received? <\/b>My ag instructor said to me years ago, \u201cYour English teacher will say, \u2018Leo can sell ice cubes to Eskimos.\u2019 But I say, \u201cNo, Leo would sell them a wood stove.\u201d I wouldn\u2019t sell a customer something they don\u2019t need.<\/p>\n


\nWhy do you love this business? <\/b>I\u2019ve been in the cattle business all my life. It\u2019s my passion. I milked cows, and the day came when I didn\u2019t milk anymore. Then I wanted to expand my beef operation. I have and I can help others with their operations. So my dream has come true.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
