BioZyme® Introduces Vitalize® Ambassador Emily Miller

Emily Miller

(SAINT JOSEPH, Mo., Sept. 20, 2017) Keeping a work-life balance in check takes effort, but setting realistic goals and making both her health and her horses’ health priorities has allowed professional cowgirl Emily Miller to take the rodeo world by storm this year. BioZyme® Inc., is excited to announce that Miller is one of its newest Vitalize® ambassadors.

“I’ve always had a need for speed, so that is how my involvement in the sport of rodeo evolved,” said the animal loving Kansas native who now resides in Weatherford, Okla.

And, when she says speed, she means it. Miller is currently ranked in the top 15 in the sport of barrel racing, with the dream of making her first appearance as a National Finals Rodeo contestant in Las Vegas later this year.

But being ranked in the top 15 hasn’t happened overnight, nor has it come easily. Miller works full-time as a registered dental hygienist, and therefore typically only competes on weekends. However, with high-quality, healthy horses she has been able to achieve the goals she set for herself: win the Prairie Circuit, check; win the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee Fla., and qualify for Calgary Stampede, check, check; perform well at Calgary and Cheyenne, check, check. One goal at a time, and one day at a time is how this young cowgirl balances her profession and her passion.

Miller started using the Vitalize High Performance pellets on Jet, one of her more nervous horses that is ulcer-prone, to see if it would make a difference. After about 30 days, she noticed a healthier, calmer horse with a shinier hair coat. She introduced the supplement to the rest of her horses to keep them healthy and performing.

“A happy horse is a horse that’s going to perform, and if they are not 100%, they can’t do their job. In a competition like professional barrel racing, you must have your horses at their best all the time. If you don’t have your horses at their best, somebody else does,” Miller said. “Being reassured that my horses have that Vitalize supplement and they are feeling good is one less thing for me to worry about. If they aren’t feeling good, and time comes down to a one-hundredth of a second, everything counts. So, you have got to have them tip-top and ready to go.”

“I’ve known Emily since she was such a little girl they had to glue blocks of wood to her stirrups so she could reach,” said John Jeffrey, BioZyme Area Sales Manager for Oklahoma and Eastern Kansas. “She works hard, has first-rate character and will represent our company and our brand with poise, grace and humility.”

As a Vitalize ambassador, Miller will represent and promote the brand at various rodeos and equine events. She is a firm believer in the products and feeds the Vitalize Equine High Performance pellets daily and uses the Vitalize Equine Recovery Paste when she travels long distances.

“Your horse’s health and well-being is a game changer. You’ve got to prioritize that if you want top-performing equine athletes,” Miller said. “This company has done its research and really has a top-quality product that is necessary if you want to have a chance competing at a top level. You owe it to yourself and your horse to give them the best chance to do that.”

BioZyme® Inc. Launches Master Dealer Training Program

It takes a team to succeed in business, and that team should be informed about the products and services you offer. In a 2015 Facebook survey of nearly 580 livestock producers who use supplements, 48% of them said they expected their dealers to have product knowledge and be able to assist with feeding recommendations.

In an effort to fulfill that expectation, BioZyme created the Master Dealer Training Program to equip its dealers with product information and keep them trained, all from the comfort of their own computers. Since its inception this summer, 23 dealers across the country have completed the program.

According to Lessonly, a leader in modern learning software development, productivity increases by 22% when employees are properly trained. That means productivity of one employee who makes $30,000 per year, could increase $6,000. Taking the time to train your employees is a good investment, especially if you multiply that $6,000 by the number of employees you train.

“The Master Dealer program is an easily accessible place to log on and learn about our products and the industry at your own speed,” says Erin Creason, Inside Sales Coordinator at BioZyme. “The consumer has asked that when they go to purchase product that the dealer has product or will order product in a timely manner and has product knowledge and is able to make a recommendation. By becoming a Master Dealer, you’re able to do both at the same time! Whether you sit down and complete the training or have your staff go through our training modules, we’re all multiplying our efforts.”

The program, which offers online training is one way to keep dealers knowledgeable about the various products, their uses and BioZyme services. A variety of learning modules covering topics from Amaferm® and stocker cattle to commercial poultry and horses are available. After each brief training video, there is a quiz for the participants to take. After all quizzes are passed and all other requirements are completed, the dealer will receive Master Dealer recognition.

In addition to completing the training modules, other requirements to meet the Master Dealer designation include having at least two employees for each dealership complete the training (unless there is just one person involved with the dealership); stocking four of the five following brands: Sure Champ®, Concept•Aid®/HEAT®, Gain Smart®, Vita Charge® or Vitalize®; and completing two courses in continuing education training each subsequent year.

Once a dealership has completed all the requirements for Master Dealer, it will be recognized and marketed as such. It will receive a special designation on the Dealer Locator page on the website, signage with the Master Dealer designation will be provided to the store; and employees who complete the training will be given a special jacket with the Master Dealer logo on it.

BioZyme works hard to give their dealers every opportunity to learn and grow with the company. The Master Dealer program is just one example of the resources created to ensure dealers have access to both people and tools necessary to grow and flourish.

BioZyme® Introduces Vitalize® Ambassador Whitney DeSalvo

Whitney DeSalvo

(SAINT JOSEPH, Mo., Sept. 14, 2017) Success is the result of working hard and striving to make yourself better than you were the day before. That is why BioZyme® Inc., is excited to announce Whitney DeSalvo, Springfield, Ark., as one of its newest Vitalize® ambassadors.

“Whitney is probably the best female roper there is,” said Chris Kyle, BioZyme Area Sales Manager representing Arkansas, Louisiana and northeast Texas. “She rides good horses, practices good horsemanship and has more work ethic and drive to be better every day than any other female competitor I’ve ever met.”

As a Vitalize ambassador, DeSalvo, will represent and promote the brand at various equine events. She is a firm believer in the products and feeds both the Vitalize Equine High Performance pellets and Vitalize Equine Free Choice Mineral to her horses daily. Vitalize Recovery Paste is her go-to product for her roping horse, Becky, after a long haul. She will also help coach younger girls interested in roping at various clinics in the future.

“It’s a privilege to represent Vitalize and I’m thankful to be a part of these great products,” DeSalvo said. “Without my horse’s being 100-percent, I couldn’t do what I do every day. I like how Vitalize makes my horses look. It makes them feel good, and when they feel good, they perform well.”

The 22-year-old DeSalvo, whose mom also was a successful rodeo cowgirl, has been roping since she was 8. She is currently leading the standings in both the WPRA and the USTRC Cruel Girl circuit, with a nearly $22,000 lead in the WPRA standings.

“All three of my horses look better since I started feeding Vitalize. They are staying filled out, and they are staying chilled out, which is the Amaferm® working to make their gut process feel better. I can tell when my mare’s stomach is bothering her, and she doesn’t want to perform, but I haven’t had those problems since I started her on Vitalize,” DeSalvo said.
